4-year-old Hyderabad-born boy becomes the youngest to climb Mt Everest base camp – Deccan News

Hyderabad: Advit Golechha, a four-year-old boy from Hyderabad who currently lives in the UAE, fulfilled his mother’s dream by becoming the youngest child to climb Mount Everest Base Camp.

For context, the Mount Everest Base Camp campsites are accessible to mountaineers and hikers on their journey.

“I wanted my son to become the youngest mountaineer and I made sure he walked regularly to the 15th floor of our apartment in Abu Dhabi instead of using the elevator,” said Shweta Golechha, Advit’s mother.

Advit started climbing on October 28 and completed its step by November 6 by covering a distance of 5,364 meters. In fact, his parents took him to Manali, for more than two weeks, so that he could acclimatize himself to colder climates.

As Shweta informed, Advit was very enthusiastic during the trip and climbed the peak with his mother and uncle. “We told him superhero stories and sang songs along the way to encourage him,” she added with a laugh.

Along with the move, it is said that Advit also pulled when they took breaks. He also has a record of the youngest in the world identifying 195 countries with capitals just by looking at their flags.

The whole idea started when Shweta asked mountaineers to help her train Advit. “I made sure he walked at least two hours a day, received proper physical training and ate healthy,” Shweta said.

Shweta also said that she did not want her son to get used to a luxurious lifestyle and become picky and therefore she made him get used to suffering so that he could become stronger.

“I was supported in my vision by my husband, Gaurav. Without his encouragement, my dream of succeeding in Advit would not have been possible. ”

The plan was initially to continue the trek in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they could not do it.
