South Australia’s tough anti-protest laws ‘won’t make any difference’: Chris Kenny

Tough anti-protest laws passed in South Australia imposing three months in jail or a fine of $50,000 “won’t make any difference”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Remember they passed tough new laws in NSW, and they were used against this woman, Mali Cooper who blocked the approaches to the Sydney harbour tunnel, locking her head to the steering wheel of her car,” Mr Kenny said.

“She was going to face the wrath of the new tough laws imposing jail terms of up to two years, but she was freed, and the charges were dropped.

“Why? Because the magistrate found she was suffering from ‘climate anxiety’.”
