53.89 pc voter turnout till 1:30 pm

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 6 (ANI): Around 53.89 per cent voter turnout was recorded till 1.30 pm because the polling for the third section of West Bengal Assembly elections is underway.

The polling began at 7 am on Tuesday. In the Arambagh constituency, 59 per cent voter turnout recorded till 1:30 pm. While it was 60.64 per cent in Tarakeswar and 61.38 per cent within the Goghat constituency.

In Diamond Harbour constituency, 51.20 per cent voter turnout recorded till 1:30 pm.

A complete of 31 Assembly constituencies in districts together with eight in Hooghly, seven in Howrah and 16 in South 24 Parganas are going to polls in phase-III. There are 205 candidates within the fray on this spherical of polling. However, relating to ladies illustration, there are solely 13 ladies candidates contesting on this section, merely six per cent.

Polling for the primary two phases of the West Bengal elections have been held on March 27 and April 1 respectively. The fourth section of polling will happen on April 10. The counting of votes will happen on May 2. (ANI)
