The deals the Queensland government makes about the Gabba renovation are “made behind closed doors” to minimise public scrutiny, according to Red Union Support Hub’s Chris Dekker.
“I think high wages and high wage increases are something that we can usually agree are great to have in an economy and particularly a productive economy,” he told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.
“The issue is that with deals like this which are essentially made behind closed doors – with only one union in a closed shop, the public doesn’t really get much scrutiny over how these costs are blowing out.”
