A kidnapping investigation led police to a “surprise” discovery inside a Texas home: over 90 people huddled along with some presumably contaminated with COVID-19.
Houston police realized of the potential kidnapping Thursday and investigated by means of the evening, securing a search warrant for a home on the southwest aspect of the town, officers say.

Inside the two-story home, the SWAT crew found 91 people ranging in age from the 20s to higher 30s with 5 girls in the group of principally males, officers say.
Investigators consider they stumbled upon a human smuggling operation undetected by anybody in the neighborhood.
“We haven’t heard anything from any of the neighbors as far as anything that would lead them to believe that there was something like that going on inside,” Edwards mentioned. “It’s very surprising.”
(*90*) of the people reported signs of COVID-19, together with lack of odor and style and fever. The metropolis well being division went to the home to conduct testing for the virus, officers say.
The people remained inside the home till the well being division can decide who might must quarantine.
“We are concerned there may be some positive COVID cases inside the house,” Edwards mentioned.
Meanwhile, Homeland Security Investigations was making an attempt to find out who introduced the people to the home.
“We’ve got to separate who the victims are,” Edwards mentioned. “Somebody that would be involved with something like this, as soon as they realize we’re here, they’re probably going to try to become a part of them.”
