The Everest’s ‘fairytale horse’ could be Buenos Noches: Shayne O’Cass
Daily Telegraph’s Shayne O’Cass discusses an exciting week in racing as The Everest approaches.
Mr O’Cass said there are now only four slots left with eight horses selected for The Everest.
“Private Eye was picked up last week after winning the shorts and … last night, Buenos Noches was added to the field,” he said.
“Which is a great result – he could be the fairytale horse of this year’s Everest if he wins because he was a $45,000 yearling, he’s got twenty owners.
“He’d be trained by Matthew Smith and ridden by Dylan Gibbons, which is absolutely incredible – he’s an apprentice, he only had his first win at Coffs Harbour in August in 2020, and now here he is, he’s going to be riding in a $20 million race.”
