Andhra Pradesh: March 10 is holiday in areas notified for municipal polls

VIJAYAWADA:  In view of the elections to be held for 12 municipal firms and 75 municipalities/ nagar panchayats on March 10, the State authorities on Monday issued orders declaring March 10 as native holiday in the areas notified for the elections. It was executed to facilitate folks to train their franchise. District collectors have been requested to declare native holiday on the day. 

Further, in order to facilitate staff of public undertakings/business /industrial models positioned in the areas going for municipal elections to train their franchise, the federal government directed the officers involved to ask the managements of these undertakings and corporations to declare the ballot day a paid holiday. 

The authorities additionally issued orders authorising the Special Commissioner of Labour to declare a paid holiday on the day of ballot  to the workers and employees employed in retailers and institutions. On the day of polling, all of the liquor retailers inside the polling areas involved will likely be closed for 48 hours previous to the hour mounted for the conclusion of polling.
