Andhra Pradesh, university to help students improve English in state

VIJAYAWADA: The Municipal Development and Urban Development Department on Thursday entered right into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with University of Cambridge in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. 

As part of the pact, the university will present coaching to academics and students of municipal faculties to improve their proficiency in the English language. 

The MoU is part of the transformation of municipal faculties (TOMS) initiative taken up by the MAUD division. 

Career steering centres shall be arrange to up-skill the students. In all, 14 profession steering centres, one every in each district headquarter and another in Pulivendula mannequin constituency shall be arrange, in accordance to a authorities order issued in the final week of December. 

As a part of the programme, 12,378 academics working in municipal faculties shall be given coaching for English. 

A students’ steering and coaching centre with built-in worldwide labs, digital curriculum, worldwide Olympiad, and IELTS coaching are additionally included in the TOMS initiative. The MoU was signed by Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration GSRKR Vijay Kumar on behalf of the state authorities.

Already, 8,000 academics have accomplished the 30-day coaching and handed the Cambridge Assessment English check. The remaining, over 4 thousand, are at present receiving coaching. Three studios shall be arrange in Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Vijayawada.
