Australia making a ‘big pivot’ on climate targets: Reece

Sky News host Nicholas Reece says “while the PM is away, the big pivot is in play” as Australia moves closer to signing up to net-zero by 2050.

“Of course, local conservative politicians have been such laggards in this area, they are now playing catch up with their international brethren,” Mr Reece said.

“Everybody knows the Coalition needs to pivot on climate policy.

“There will be a commitment to net zero by 2050 with some offsets for agriculture and transition assistance for coal communities.”
