A new station for the Sydney Metro West project has being flagged between Parramatta and Olympic Park.
The move however could mean racing will become a thing of the past in Western Sydney.
The billion-dollar plan could encourage the government to sell the Sydney’s Rosehill racecourse to make way for 25,000 new dwellings before the end of the decade.
Under these new plans, racing and training would have to move to other tracks across the city.
It confirms the Minns government’s intentions to forge ahead with the project, ending months of uncertainty.
