Bhogi a big draw at Srisailam temple

KURNOOL: Authorities of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam organised Bhogi pageant in a conventional method within the early hours of Wednesday. In protecting with the custom, a number of households celebrated ‘Bhogi pallu’ pouring berries on the heads of kids blessing them. The temple witnessed a regular stream of devotees proper from the morning.

As a part of the seven-day Sankranti Brahmotsavams, the temple clergymen carried out particular pujas akin to Pratahkala puja and Maha Mangala Harati. Addressing the media, temple government officer KS Rama Rao stated the presiding deities had been taken in a procession on Ravana Vahanam on Wednesday night as a part of the mega fete.  He said that elaborate preparations for the grand conduct of Brahmotsava Kalyanam have been made.
