Bihar: Devotees begin offering Pindadaan to their ancestors during Pitripaksha
In Bihar, devotees have started offering Pindadaan to their ancestors during fortnight-long Pitripaksha which began today. People across the state come to Gaya to offer Pindadaan. This year Pitripaksha Mela has not been organised due to COVID. Devotees have been instructed to perform the rituals in complete adherence to COVID guidelines. Health camps have been set up for Corona testing and vaccination.
Gaya District Magistrate Abhishek Singh said, devotees have started coming to the Vishnupad temple since reopening on 26th of Agust. Devotees have been instructed to follow COVID guidelines. Only 20 devotees are being allowed entry to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple at a time. Performing Pindadaan during Pitripaksha is considered more fruitful than other days.
