Billionaire developer and humanities patron Eli Broad, who helped put Los Angeles on the high-culture map, died Friday, a spokeswoman stated. He was 87.
He died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after an extended sickness, stated Suzi Emmerling, spokeswoman for the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation.
Broad based homebuilder KB Home in 1957 and bought life insurance coverage and monetary companies firm SolarAmerica Inc. 20 years later.
