Bombay HC reduces death sentence in Shakti Mills gang rape to life

The Bombay high court on Thursday set aside the sentence of death penalty for three accused in the Shakti Mills gangrape case, and sentenced them to life imprisonment instead.

In August 2013, a photojournalist who had visited the abandoned mill land on an assignment, was raped by four men and a minor inside the mill compound.


The trial court had awarded death sentence to three of the accused, which verdict has been set aside by the high court.
