Australian Turf Club Chairman Peter McGauran says the revamping of Rosehill Gardens is a “once in a 100-year opportunity” for the racing industry.
Under a new initiative by the NSW government, Rosehill Gardens will be transformed from a racecourse into a new Western Sydney hub with up to 25,000 new homes as part of a radical housing plan.
“The revenue will ensure that racecourse facilities, training centres, member and racegoer experiences are the very best in the world and for decades to come,” Mr McGauran said.
“This is exciting, we have a vision for racing.”
The Australian Turf Club will work with the state government to develop and negotiate the plan in 2024.
