Chief Electoral Officer takes activities for smooth conduct of forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 2022
In Manipur, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has taken up various activities for smooth conduct of the forthcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, 2022.
Addressing the media persons this afternoon at his Office located in Imphal, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur, Rajesh Agrawal said that the disposal of claims and objections on Special Summary Revision will be completed by 20th of this month and final Electoral Rolls will be published on 5th January. The first level checking of M3-EVM completed for all the districts and VVPAT checking will commence from next week. EVM Demonstration Centres have been set up in offices of DEOs, ROs, and Demonstration Vans will also be launched very soon.
He said, the officials to be involved in the election have been trained and three rounds of meetings have been held with recognized political parties functioning in Manipur. Political parties have also been informed on the requirement of publication of criminal antecedents of candidates in newspapers/TV on three different occasions.
Shri Agrawal said that 6588 vehicles of different types shall be required for polling personnel and security personnel on poll duty. The Chief Secretary of Assam and Nagaland have been requested to extend cooperation in requisition of around 3000 heavy vehicles for interstate transportation of CAPF.
