Hyderabad: The 11-member workforce of blended martial arts (MMA) fighters from Telangana, led by workforce coach Mohd. Faqruddin is all set to represent and take part within the fourth National MMA Championship being held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from February 19 to 21.
The workforce can also be being accompanied by 4 members who’re a part of the occasion’s organizing workforce, mentioned Shaikh Khalid, coach of India’s nationwide workforce. He can also be the founding father of the Telangana Association of blended Martial Arts(TAMMA).
“Despite the national lockdown and many obstacles, the team is ready for this year’s nationals. The fighters have been training relentlessly day and night and the energy is through the roof” Shaikh Khalid advised siasat.com.
India’s first novice International champion Mahboob Khan, who’s from Hyderabad, mentioned “This year will be the year entire India will know-how skilled and passionate Hyderabadi fighters are. We will dominate all weight divisions InshaAllah (if God wills).”
He additional added that his workforce is being cautious about sustaining weights of gamers this time due to an incident that transpired beforehand, whereby he was disquailified at a world event. “My weight slightly exceded the category. I blame our Hyderabadi food for that,” he mentioned in jest.
The primary fighters representing the Telangana workforce are Arbaaz Ahmed at bantamweight, Hemanth Naik at middle-weight, Abdul Aziz at strawweight, Areeb at featherweight, Sana Afreen at Featherweight, Divya at middleweight, Praneeth at light-weight, Varun at strawweight, Mahboob Khan at featherweight and Suhas at feather weight.
