Country contenders head to Kosciuszko

Sydney's Spring Carnival has a record $50 million dollar prize pool this year including the world's richest race for country-trained horses - The Kosciuszko.

Members of the public across New South Wales and the ACT purchased tickets and went into a sweepstakes to win 14 slots before selecting a horse they wanted to be in the race.

The Kosciuszko has a prize of $1.5 million and is only open to country-trained horses.
