MYSURU: COVID-19 norms went for a toss as hundreds of devotees sans masks, ignoring bodily distancing norms, thronged anthills and temples across Mysuru to supply milk as a part of Subramanya Shasti.
While the district administration had banned the entry of devotees to the Subramanyeshwara Swamy temple in Siddalingapura, the general public went to the anthills and temples close to their homes to present choices.
Many consider that providing milk to the anthills on shasti day would relieve them from ‘Sarpa Dosha’. Dressed up in conventional apparel, they made serpentine queues in entrance of the anthills and temples.
Though a number of temples had made preparations to observe social distancing, individuals who flocked to anthills on vacant lands, sports activities floor and close to temples had been seen falling on one another whereas providing milk and butter.
