Cuomo accuser criticises NY governor for claiming he ‘didn’t do anything wrong’

One of Andrew Cuomo’s sexual harassment accusers says the NY governor is “demonstrating a studied ignorance of both his legal obligations and revisionist history about his own conduct” after he claimed he “didn’t do anything wrong”.

A reporter asked Cuomo in a press conference what he will do if the Attorney General’s investigation contradicts his innocence to which the governor replied “the report can’t say anything different”.

Charlotte Bennett, a former aide to the governor, accused him of sexual harassment and today slammed his claim that he did nothing wrong.

"Today, the Governor said he didn't 'do anything wrong,' demonstrating a studied ignorance of both his legal obligations and a revisionist history about his own conduct," she said.

"Despite what the Governor said today, the Attorney General's report will not absolve him of wrongdoing because his legal obligations – which he chooses to flout – are crystal clear.

"At least nine women have come forward who have credibly accused him of unwelcome advances, unwelcome touching, and/or aggressive groping. This behaviour is unequivocally wrong and unlawful."
