Delhi LG approves enrolment of over 10000 home guard personnel – New Delhi Times – India’s Only International Newspaper – Empowering Global Vision, Empathizing with India

Raj Niwas has said in a statement that Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Kumar Saxena has approved the enrolment of more than 10000 new home guard personnels.

Saxena directed the officials to complete the enrolment process by March 2024. Raj Niwas officials said that there will be an open, fair and transparent process in selection. The Delhi LG has also directed officials to provide 10 bonus points to ex civil defence volunteers.

“Saxena directed the officials to squeeze timelines of the enrolment process from June to March, ensure transparency in selection, provide 10 bonus points to ex-CDVs and complete the entire enrolment process at a fast pace by putting into place more teams and locations to complete the physical test process,” the officials said.

The Delhi LG has also directed that the age limit for enrolment into home guards will be brought down to 45 years from the existing 60 years. The  minimum qualification has been raised from Class 10 to Class 12.
