Delhi LG presides over 38th foundation day of IGNOU as Chief Guest – New Delhi Times – India’s Only International Newspaper – Empowering Global Vision, Empathizing with India
Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena presided over the 38th foundation day of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
He said that IGNOU has a pivotal role in democratising higher education and contributing to India’s aspiration to become the world’s third-largest economy by nurturing a skilled and capable workforce.
He said in his address that education should focus on student upskilling and vocational education, to build a high-quality future workforce. Equal emphasis needs to be given to the curricular and the extra-curricular, for holistic student development.
The 38th foundation day commenced with a floral tribute at the statue of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi, led by Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor IGNOU, alongside key university officials, Pro-Vice Chancellors, School Directors, faculty members and the entire IGNOU fraternity.
