“In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of October 31, 2021. This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA,” said the notice signed by Sunil Kumar, Joint Director General, DGCA.

The notice posted by the DGCA on its official Twitter handle also stated that the international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on case to case basis.

The decision comes even as the Covid-19 situation has improved in the country.

The DGCA had earlier last month announced an extension of the ban on scheduled international commercial passenger flights to and from India till September 30.

“The competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs IST of September 30, 2021,” the civil aviation regulator said in a circular.
