National Congress Party (NCP) chief Dilip Walse Patil is anticipated to switch Anil Deshmukh as the brand new residence minister of Maharashtra. Deshmukh resigned on Monday from his submit, hours after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI probe into corruption costs leveled towards him.

Singh had alleged that Deshmukh used to name cops to his official residence and provides them a “collection target” from bars, eating places and different institutions.

A six-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Patil, the frontrunner for the house minister’s submit, is at the moment serving as minister of excise and labor division within the Uddhav Thackeray cupboard. Previously, Patil headed the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Energy Ministry, Higher and Technical Education Ministry, and Medical Education Ministry, all as a Cabinet Minister from 1999 to 2009.
