Dozens of Pilot Whales Stranded at Remote New Zealand Beach
Volunteers labored to avoid wasting dozens of pilot whales stranded at a distant seaside in New Zealand, on Monday, February 22. Environmental organisation Project Jonah reported 49 pilot whales have been stranded at Farewell Spit, whereas 9 had perished. This video exhibits volunteers helping the whales at low tide. The animals are heard ‘whistling’ whereas lined in damp cloths in an try and preserve them alive.
