‘Education crisis far worse than anything Mark Latham and I have said’: Alan Jones

Sky News host Alan Jones says the education crisis is 'far worse" than what has been said before.

"On this education crisis, can I say to you, without any sense of exaggeration, it is, in my opinion, far worse than anything Mark Latham and I have said," Mr Jones said.

Mr Jones said he received correspondence from a parent in Victoria who said in online classes last year primary school children recited "lengthy ditties insulting Tony Abbott and Donald Trump" but could not "name their state premier or Australia's prime minister".

Mr Jones spoke with NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham on the matter who said examples like these were "just the tip of the iceberg" of what is taught in the classroom.

"It's just the tip of the iceberg – these are just the things we know about in the classroom," Mr Latham said.

"But there are ... tens of thousands of classrooms in New South Wales.

"We're dealing here with I suppose a small representative sample of what's really going on.

"Ministers by and large in the NSW government don't run their departments and I can assure you the minister for education is not running the school system in our state

"And results are going backwards and this junk in the classroom is a huge part of the problem."
