Vinnies sees 20 per cent increase in demand from cost of living pressures

St Vincent de Paul Society NSW Executive Director in Commercial Enterprise, Fundraising and Communications Yolanda Saiz says Vinnies is seeing a 20 per cent increase in demand due to cost of living pressures.

“Unfortunately Vinnies is seeing about a 20 per cent increase in demand over this Christmas period as compared to last year,” Ms Saiz told Sky News Australia.

“What we do know is one in four people are actually turning to us for the very first time which clearly indicates that people are struggling with the cost of living.

“Very worrying for all of us is that four out of five of the people coming to Vinnies are actually coming to us for the very basics such as food.”
