Five Must-See Football Matches This Weekend | Sports Pundit

Sunday marks the day for the best football action this weekend, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid involved in blockbusters.

West Ham United v Manchester United

Sunday 3pm European time – English Premier League

Both West Ham and league leaders Manchester United are unbeaten across the first four matches of the new campaign, with the Red Devils enjoying some strong form buoyed by Cristiano Ronaldo’s return. However, United suffered a shock loss to Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League in midweek. The Hammers won 2-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb and were the league’s surprise last term, finishing sixth. But they will be without suspended star striker Michail Antonio in a major blow.

Tottenham v Chelsea

Sunday 5:30pm European time – English Premier League

London clubs Tottenham and Chelsea meet on Sunday, with both enjoying decent starts to the new season. Spurs had been top until their 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace last time out but may welcome back Son Heung-Min in a major boost. Chelsea are second with 10 points from four games, with new signing Romelu Lukaku making a big impact. The Blues have dominated Spurs in recent times, with Tottenham having not beaten Chelsea in normal time since January 2019.

Juventus v AC Milan

Sunday 8:45pm European time – Italian Serie A

Life after Ronaldo continues to be difficult for Juventus, who have only managed one point from three league games this season. It doesn’t get any easier for the Old Lady, who host AC Milan, who boast an 100 per cent record in Serie A. Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud have started strong in attack for the Rossoneri while Juve have managed only three goals from three games, although they grabbed an impressive 3-0 win in Malmo in midweek in the UEFA Champions League to boost confidence.

Paris Saint-Germain v Olympique Lyon

Sunday 8:45pm European time – French Ligue 1

Lionel Messi’s PSG have won five from five in Ligue 1 this term but they face their toughest test yet on Sunday against Olympique Lyon who were fourth in the league last term. PSG had Kylian Mbappe suffer an injury in their midweek UEFA Champions League draw with Club Brugge so he’ll be in doubt for this clash. Lyon have been well led by Moussa Dembele who has scored four goals already, while Ander Herrera has been surprisingly productive in attack for PSG with three strikes.

Valencia v Real Madrid

Sunday 9pm European time – Spanish La Liga

Spain’s top two meet on Sunday night when Valencia play host to Carlo Ancelotti’s Los Blancos. Both sides have collected 10 points from four games this season, winning their past two. Karim Benzema has been on fire for Real, netting five times already, while Vinicius Junior has made an impact with four goals. Carlos Soler has been Los Che’s marksman, beating Osasuna, Alaves and Getafe already, while they have won their past four home league games.
