Earlier, a Mumbai court had declared Singh as “absconding”. It has been reported that Singh is facing extortion charges in many cases in Maharashtra.
According to narratives, Singh reached the office of the Crime Branch Unit 11 in Mumbai’s Kandivali. With this, he has joined the probe in Goregaon for the alleged extortion case.
Previously, on Wednesday, November 24, Singh had stated that he was in Chandigarh and would come to Mumbai soon. Accounts claim that he had also reported on Telegram.
This was two days after the Supreme Court granted Singh protection from arrest. After his transfer in March from the post of the Mumbai Police Commissioner, Singh hadn’t reported to duty since May 2021.
Additionally, earlier this week, Singh had made a proclamation that he was willing to appear before the CBI in two days.
Singh had made corruption allegations against former state Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh. Accounts claim that the Supreme Court has asked Singh to join the investigation. The judiciary has reportedly posted the hearing to December 6.
Amid the multiple extortion cases registered against Singh, some have a non-bailable warrant to them, stated narratives.
