Himachal Pradesh: Intense cold prevailing in most parts of the State
In Himachal Pradesh, intense cold is prevailing in most parts of the State. Majority of places in the state are reeling under severe cold. The upper reaches of the state have been experiencing intermittent snowfall while it is raining in the plains including state capital Shimla.
The tourist destination Kufri and Narkanda in Shimla district received light snowfall. High hill at Shimla city also received light snowflake today. On the other hand, the normal life in Tribal district Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur and Pangi and Bharmor of Chamba district remain affected due to snowfall. In Lahul spiti Manali Keylong road has been interrupted again due to heavy snowfall.
The lowest temperature in the state was recorded at -5.1 degree Celsius in Keylong. Meanwhile, the state weather department has issued yellow warnig of snowfall in high and mid-hills while moderate rain in the plains during the next 24 hours .
