IAF chopper crash: Mortal remains of IAF Junior Warrant Officer Pradeep Arrackal reached Walayar, Kerala
In Kerala, the mortal remains of IAF Junior Warrant Officer Pradeep Arrackal, one of the victims of the copter crash at Coonoor on Wednesday, was received at Walayar on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border this afternoon.
Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan accompanied the convoy carrying the body.
Kerala Ministers K Rajan, K Radhakrishnan and K Krishnankutty received the body at Walayar and paid homage on behalf of the state government. A large number of people gathered at the border also paid tributes to the departed IAF serviceman.
The body will be kept at the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Puthur in Thrissur district for the public to pay homage.
The funeral will take place at Ponnukkara, with full military honours this evening.
Earlier, the mortal remains were brought to the Sulur Air Base in Coimbatore from Delhi by a special flight.
