‘Imagine What You Can Do’: Richard Branson Gives Message From Edge of Space

Billionaire Richard Branson shared a message with children back on earth as he entered space aboard Virgin Galactic’s first fully crewed flight on Sunday, July 11. “To all you kids down there: I was once a child with a dream, looking up to the stars. Now, I’m an adult in a spaceship with lots of other wonderful adults looking down to our beautiful, beautiful Earth,” Branson says in this video provided by Virgin Galactic. “To the next generation of dreamers, if we can do this, just imagine what you can do.” Virgin Galactic’s rocket-powered test flight launched from Spaceport America in Sierra County, New Mexico, on Sunday morning. After reaching 50,000 feet, the VSS Unity separated from a carrier plane before engaging rockets and continuing to upwards of 282,000 feet. The Unity then descended back to Earth on Sunday.
