The Biden administration has appointed an Indian-American local weather and energy expert, who spent three years deploying photo voltaic energy options in rural India, to a key position in the agriculture department.
Bidisha Bhattacharyya on Monday was appointed as Senior Policy Advisor in the Farm Service Agency (FSA).
She was earlier posted as Director of Climate and Energy Policy on the Centre for American Progress.
Prior to becoming a member of American Progress, Bhattacharyya was vice chairman of Emerging Markets on the impact-investment agency Village Capital, the place she led a world staff throughout India, Mexico, and East Africa to make investments in high-impact startups innovating to resolve issues throughout clear energy deployment and monetary inclusion.
She beforehand spent three years deploying photo voltaic energy options in rural India with the expertise startup Simpa Networks, the place she led the end-to-end rollout of a brand new off-grid photo voltaic product line.
