The inflow into the Mettur dam in Tamil Nadu is registering a gradual decline, as the rainfall in the catchment areas of River Cauvery has come down.

The inflow into the dam, which is the biggest in the state, has reduced from 9314 cusecs yesterday to 8030 cusecs this morning. However, the sustained inflow for the past few days has resulted in a marginal rise in the dam’s water level from 108.6 feet to 108.98feet.

The quantum of water in the reservoir is currently 76.96 TMC feet. The inflow is expected to come down further as the quantum of water being realised at the zero-point between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka near Hogenakkal this morning has dipped to six thousand cusecs of water.
