Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), have had a forgettable campaign in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with just one win in eight games having lost all other seven matches. However, their solitary win came against the Punjab Kings, whom they will face off against in Match No 37 of the 14th edition.

Punjab Kings, on the other hand, haven’t had a great tournament either and are just above SRH in the points table with just three wins in nine games and are coming off a game that they should have won comfortably but choked in the end to give it away to the Rajasthan Royals by two runs.

SRH have a wood over the Punjab Kings in their recent encounters winning three of the last five matches between the two teams. While SRH have to depend on various permutations and combinations apart from winning all their remaining games, Punjab Kings still have the destiny in their own hands.

The last time these two sides met, earlier this season, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a commanding performance as after bowling out the Punjab Kings outfit for just 120 runs on a sluggish Chepauk track, the SRH opening batter chased down the total with eight balls to spare, by nine wickets.

David Warner leads the most runs list

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner is the leading run-scorer in the SRH vs PBKS matches with 698 runs. Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul is in second place with 286 runs against the Sunrisers, having joined the franchise in 2018.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the leading wicket-taker

Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the leading wicket-taker in the SRH vs PBKS games with 19 scalps and the leg-spinner Rashid Khan is second in the list with 19 wickets. While pacer Sandeep Sharma, who has played for the Punjab outfit till 2017 and SRH since 2018 also has 17 wickets to his name in this fixture.
