ITBP’s 500-bed Covid centre opens in Delhi

New Delhi, April 26

A Covid care centre with 500 oxygen-supported beds run by the ITBP started functioning in South Delhi’s Radha Soami Beas campus at Chhatarpur from Monday with the admission of at the least 25 sufferers, officers stated.

“The facility, named Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Covid Care Centre (SPCCC), started functioning today,” ITBP spokesperson Vivek Kumar Pandey stated earlier in the day. Officials in the ITBP stated at current, the centre was working with 500 oxygenated beds, including that 5,000 extra beds can be added in the approaching days.

A crew of 60 medical doctors, 120 paramedics, 100 safety personnel and the executive workers have been tasked to run the centre. “All SOPs for the admission of patients will be strictly followed and all laid-down protocols adhered to,” he added. “Patients will have to be referred by respective District Surveillance Officers. Patients would require to first report on the reception, after preliminary documentation, their bodily examination can be accomplished after which they might be admitted to the care centre at their allotted mattress. — TNS
