J&K: Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurates Amar Santosh Art Gallary
In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, on second day of Public Outreach Programme, Union MoS for Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal today inaugurated Amar Santosh Art Gallary and released a documentary movie on culture and historical monuments of District Udhampur at Govt. Model Higher Secondary School.
AIR correspondent reports that the Minister inspected the stalls and photo exhibition depicting old monuments, stone tools, fossils, utensils of copper and bronze, old books/documents, weapons, Numismatic mourya to Mughal period, Ancient instruments, scultures Iconograph, Jewellery Kashmiri, Gojri and tribal, Manuscripts. He appreciated the efforts made by District Administration and Amar Santosh Art Gallary for organizing this exhibition and said that such exhibition to make the people aware about their rich past and inculcates in them a sense to preserve it.
Earlier, the District Administration in collaboration with UB Randonneurs cyclist Association, Udhampur organized a cycle rally as part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Union Minister flagged off the cycle rally from Tara Niwas that witnessed participation of more than 28 cyclists including the Union Minister. Later, Yoga display was also organized and certification distribution was held by the Minister. During the interaction, several delegations and individuals met the Union Minister and put forth their issues and demands. The Union Minister assured the delegations to redress the genuine issues and demands on priority basis through a follow up double plan in a phased manner.
