Karnataka govt quashes Mysuru DC’s orders on Covid restrictions- The New Indian Express

MYSURU: A slew of restrictions and pointers introduced by Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri had been struck down by the state authorities on Thursday night. Amid rumours of one other lockdown, the DC had introduced that detrimental experiences had been necessary to go to vacationer locations, resorts, golf equipment, theatres and conference halls, and an advisory for travellers from Bengaluru, inflicting confusion.

However, by night, the order was nullified by Principal Secretary, Revenue Department (Disaster Management, Bhoomi & UPOR) Dr Manjunath Prasad who issued an order stating that such issues weren’t below the purview of the DC and might be determined by the state authorities below Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s supervision.

When contacted, senior officers from the district administration clarified that they had been conscious of the orders however no official communique has been issued by the DC herself.  Stakeholders of the tourism sector had been relived after the DC’s orders had been revoked.
