PURI: Pahili Bhog, the month-long particular providing to Lord Jagannath and his siblings, was ready by servitors on Tuesday morning. The bhog will be supplied to the Trinity early within the morning on daily basis from Dhanu Sankranti till Makar Sankranti.
As many as 32 sorts of sweetmeats like Badajhili, Chadheineda, Bada Bara, Manda, Kakera, Amalu, Enduri, Darasua Badi, Darasuajhili, Mugei, Nali, Ladi, Gaintha, Gaja and Khairachula ready from grams, wheat, molasses, ghee and different elements will be supplied to the deities.
On the day, the gates of Sri Jagannath temple had been opened at 3.40 am and it took about an hour to full ‘Sodha’ (cleaning the temple and its complicated). Mangal Arati started at 4.30 am adopted by Mailam, Abakash, Rosohoma and Suryapuja. The servitors dressed the deities in new garments. Thereafter, Gopal Bhog and Pahili Bhog had been supplied concurrently.
Since the temple remained closed for devotees, all of the ‘nitees’ and rituals of the deities had been carried out in presence of servitors solely.
