Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope announced that the state has achieved the unique milestone of administering 11 crore doses of Covid vaccine. According to him, 3.76 crore people have been fully vaccinated with both doses, while 7.23 crore people have received the first jab. He said that efforts are being made to fully vaccinate the eligible population of the state as quickly as possible. People are encouraged to take the Covid-19 vaccines with the help of innovative drives in the state.

AIR correspondent reports, Covid-19 situation in Maharashtra is improving continuously due to the increased coverage of Covid-19 preventive vaccines in the state. According to Health Minister Rajesh Tope, more than 1 crore doses were administered in the last 14 days. This could happen with the various innovative initiatives to encourage eligible beneficiaries to get themselves vaccinated as soon as possible. Vaccination drives are being conducted on the occasion of Weekly Market in Hingoli District to attract more and more beneficiaries. Similarly, drives are being held at night in Nandurbar District so that people who are not able to visit the vaccination centers due to their busy schedule during the day, can avail the facility in the evening. Vaccine doses are being administered outside some of the suburban local railway stations in Mumbai in morning and evening shifts. As the state government has allowed only those commuters to travel by local train who have been fully vaccinated, more and more people are now coming forward to get themselves vaccinated. On the other hand, many offices including government offices have made it mandatory for their employees to take the vaccine doses and allowing to attend the offices only after their vaccination. Thane Municipal Corporation has prohibited the people to travel in its buses who have not taken either of the doses of Covid-19 vaccines. These measures are proving to be effective in increasing the vaccination coverage in the state.
