Maharashtra: Sangli District Administration organizes massive vaccination campaign to vaccinate 4 lakh people in two days
In view of fresh threat of COVID-19 from the Omicron variant, the Sangli District Administration in Maharashtra has organized a massive vaccination campaign targeting to vaccinate four lakh people in two days. The two-day campaign termed as Mahalasikaran Abhiyan has started from today and will continue till tomorrow. Elaborate arrangements have been made for this special vaccination programme at Primary Health Centres in urban and rural areas of the district. About 450 Immunization Centres have been set up in the district during the Corona Vaccination Campaign. The District Administration has also ensured that adequate vaccines and medicines are available at this centre. Meanwhile, 130 people have been reported to have returned from abroad last month who have been tested for COVID-19 and tested negative. In another development, the first Omicron positive patient in the state from Dombivali in Thane district has been treated successfully and discharged from the hospital.
