A person with an assault-style rifle was shot and wounded by officers Monday evening outside a Missouri State Highway Patrol close to Kansas City, authorities stated.
No one else was injured within the capturing, which occurred about 9:40 p.m. at Troop A headquarters in Lee’s Summit.
The man “wanted to do some harm,” state patrol Sgt. Bill Lowe instructed reporters, noting that it was early within the investigation and extra particulars in regards to the man’s motives weren’t recognized.
A trooper noticed the person after he drove into the headquarters’ car parking zone and acquired out of his car with an assault-style rifle, officers stated.
“The trooper gave several commands to the suspect,” then radioed to tell others, Lowe stated.
Two troopers fired their obligation weapons, he stated. He was unsure if the person who was wounded fired his weapon.
“There was nothing that the troopers could have done differently,” Lowe stated.
The man was transported to a hospital, however his situation was not instantly launched.
