As neighbouring States in the Northeast have started to take stringent measures to tackle the third wave of COVID 19, Meghalaya Government is in no mood for a total lockdown despite the State recording an increasing number of COVID cases.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed the media that the Government wants to ensure that the livelihoods of the people are not affected by another round of lockdown but if the situation goes beyond a certain point, then the administration will be forced to take a decision on imposing lockdown.
