‘Moral failure on both sides’ of English Channel migrant crisis

There has been a “moral failing on both sides” of the migrant crisis in the English Channel, according to Sky News host James Morrow.

It comes after at least 31 people died in the worst migrant drowning in the English Channel.

“On the one hand, the Johnson government needs to do more to make Britain a less attractive destination for these illegal migrants,” Mr Morrow told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“They've come from France. They’ve come through a number of other countries, and as we all know … it is vital for people to apply for asylum in the first safe country they land.

“That said, France has a moral responsibility here to do more to stop the migrants from leaving.”
