On Monday, January 10, morning, a tow tractor that was being made ready to push back an Air India aircraft burst into flames at the Mumbai airport, reported the Times of India.
The said mishap transpired at nearly 10.45 am when the AI-647 Air India flight was made ready to fly to Jamnagar. According to the report, the tow bar was being put into the A320 flight when it suddenly caught fire. Adding that the pushback tug had come back after refuelling.
The account further elaborated on how the airport fire services reached the location. The flight was standing some feet away from the vehicle on fire and hence wasn’t damaged.
Owing to this incident, the flight to Jamnagar departed nearly 20 minutes late.
