‘Negative circumstances’ surrounding vaccine distribution is ‘worrying’ for confidence

Former AMA president Tony Bartone says it is not uncommon for different vaccines to be made available to target different “sub-groups” of the population. 

He told Sky News he would like to see conversations happen between Australians and their GPs to reiterate the vaccine is “an important next step in terms of our protection and our coming out from the COVID-19 pandemic”. 

“Any negative circumstances or information or events around any implementation or rollout of a new vaccine is of course very, very worrying,” he said. 

“We are in the middle of one of the most extensive public health campaigns in our lifetime in terms of vaccinating an entire population against COVID-19.”
