No free water for Outer Ring Road areas, scheme only for Greater Hyderabad residents

Hyderabad: A foul information for the residents of the Outer Ring Road areas who have been wanting ahead to avail 20,000 litres of free water is that the state authorities has determined to exclude them from the scheme.

As per the federal government’s newest determination, the free water scheme can be carried out only in areas inside Greater Hyderabad.

The state authorities had promised on the eve of the Municipal company elections that the areas of the Outer Ring Road can even be included within the free water scheme.

The state authorities has amended the scheme to implement it only in GHMC areas.

In the case of together with the Outer Ring Road areas within the scheme, the Municipal Administration needed to bear a further expenditure of 9.08 lakh customers at a price of Rs.500 cr.  Thus, the payments from the residents of those areas can be collected as typical.

The Government has allotted Rs.250 cr for supplying ingesting water to the brand new colonies in Outer Ring Road areas.  But nonetheless the federal government is holding these areas out of the scheme.

The HMWSSB authorities stated all these staying in GHMC areas who had linked their buyer account Numbers with their Aadhaar and paid payments for January, February, and March may have their payments adjusted as per the brand new scheme.

It is alleged that multiple lakh customers have linked their buyer account Numbers with Aadhaar.

According to the Government tips, all house customers and residents of the slum areas are eligible for the brand new scheme however they must hyperlink their buyer account Numbers with Aadhaar. 

While all of the water customers are required to put in water meters, the slum dwellers are exempted from this situation.

More than 70% of water customers in Hyderabad don’t have any water meters.

As per an estimate of HMWSSB, the ten.08 lakh customers can save Rs.19.92 cr a month by putting in 2.37 lakh water meters.
