A 26-year-old North Carolina mom was charged Thursday with involuntary manslaughter after her 5-month-old, who she allegedly left in a car for hours, died.
Police have been referred to as to a house in Statesville, about 40 miles north of Charlotte, on Sunday for a 5-month-old in respiratory misery, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated in an announcement.
When deputies arrived, Troutman Fire and Iredell County EMS have been already on scene, Campbell stated. The little one was pronounced useless on the house.
An post-mortem carried out on the newborn Tuesday discovered that the reason for demise was environmental hyperthermia.
The child’s mom, Madison Cassidy Moore, informed authorities she had left the kid in a car seat in her car for a number of hours Sunday, in line with a police assertion.
Moore was arrested Thursday and charged with felony involuntary manslaughter, police stated.
She is being held on the Iredell County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, Campbell stated. It is unclear if she has a lawyer.
