One dead in explosion in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas

North 24 Parganas (West (*24*)) [India], April 26 (ANI): An 18-year-old pupil died in an explosion in the Guptarbagan space of West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district on Sunday evening, the police mentioned.

According to the police, the incident passed off close to Motibhaban School in the Guptarbagan space of Ward 17 of Bhatpara Municipality beneath Jagaddal Police Station.

The deceased has been recognized as Anurag Sau, a pupil of BA first 12 months.

“Anurag was injured when he heard the sound of bombing. He was taken to Bhatapara State General Hospital but the doctor on duty informed that he had died earlier,” the police mentioned.

Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, voting is presently for the seventh part of the state meeting polls in West (*24*). A complete of 268 candidates, together with 37 girls are in the fray in this part.

Polling for phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the state elections passed off on March 27, April 1, April 6, April 10, April 17 and April 22 respectively. Polling for the ultimate part will likely be held on April 29 whereas the counting of votes will happen on May 2. (ANI)
