Over 20,000 active COVID cases in Victoria

Victorian COVID-19 Response Commander Jeroen Weimar says there are over 20,000 active COVID cases in the state.

"Now well over 20,000 active cases of COVID in our community, really all across the state," he said.

He said it is a “challenging day” with the state recording 2,297 cases in the last 24 hours, and the state’s average case count across seven days is 1,781 - slightly above the Burnet Institute trajectory.

“We are now on the most challenging part of the journey, where the destination is close at sight, but we’ve got some very big weather to get through over the coming days and weeks.”
